Join the 1,000 Reader Challenge!
Thanks to a generous grant from the Kansas Health Foundation, the Lawrence Public Library is out to boost its Summer Reading Program participation. The library has set a goal of increasing the number of summer reading finishers by 1,000 people. This is a tall order -- last summer, a record high 4,542 children, teens and adults completed the program.
This summer's theme, "One World, Many Stories" provides a family-friendly, multiethnic, and multicultural summer reading program that embraces the diversity of the Lawrence community. Best of all, summer reading is for everyone: children, teens, and adults all are encouraged to participate.
