"The first time NPR went on the road for a broadcast, we went to KANU in Lawrence. I was hosting ALL THINGS CONSIDERED then (in the 1970s) and it was such a thrill. My first trip to Kansas. The library has so much to celebrate now, and again I am thrilled to be a part of it."

Celebrate the Lawrence Public Library's exciting new chapter at this special benefit featuring NPR special correspondent Susan Stamberg. One of the most popular broadcasters in public radio, Stamberg is well-known for her conversational style, intelligence, and knack for finding an interesting story. Her thousands of interviews include conversations with Rosa Parks, Laura Bush, Billy Crystal, Dave Brubeck, and Luciano Pavarotti.

Order tickets now at the Lied Center of Kansas. A limited number of VIP tickets are available which include admission to a special after party and a chance to meet Susan. This special reception, sponsored by KU Libraries, will feature cranberry desserts and samples of Susan's infamous cranberry relish prepared by Lawrence chefs Robert and Molly Krause.

Purchase tickets at the Lied Center box office, 1600 Stewart Dr., by phone at 785-864-2787, or online by clicking on the link below.  You also can win tickets to the event by entering our "Cranberry Creations" recipe contest.  All proceeds benefit your library.
