Established in 1997, the Lawrence Public Library Foundation is an independent, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization that secures private funding for the library. Its mission is to provide long term, stable support for the resources and services the library needs to meet the evolving educational, recreational, and informational needs and interests of the community. While private donations cannot replace strong public funding of the library, the Foundation provides financial support for enhancements that supplement and strengthen the public's investment in the library.
